PHILOSOPHY
“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you” (John 20:21)
We, the church, are sent by Jesus Christ to fulfill a particular purpose. Far from any vague notions of “incarnational living,” Jesus specifies the Church’s Mission for us: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:19-20).
Every Christian participates in this mission by sharing the gospel with the lost, bringing new believers into the local church (Col 2:12; Rom 6:4), and by teaching them from the Scriptures to conform their lives to the image of Christ.
Evangelism and discipleship are our God-given mission, both locally and globally.
